  • What is the difference between Pith® Sketchbooks and Notebooks?

    Our Sketchbooks feature 200 gsm paper with a medium-toothed texture, more suited to wetter materials, paints and watercolours with light water washes. The sketchbook paper’s subtle texture also works exceptionally well with pencil and dry media.

    Our notebook paper is 130 gsm with a cold-pressed smooth surface, which is much better suited to fountain pens, ink, and dry media. The smooth surface prevents feathering with fountain pens and ink sitting on the paper instead of soaking in.

  • What kind of paper is used in Pith® Sketchbooks?

    Pith® Sketchbooks are made with off-white, acid-free paper with a medium tooth texture. Suitable for a wide range of applications from dry to wet art materials, at 200 gsm, it resists cockling with light washes and has minimal bleed-through.

    All paper has limitations, and we pitch our sketchbooks as ‘all-rounders’; we recommend creating a test sheet at the back of your sketchbook to test its boundaries with your preferred materials.

  • How long does shipping usually take?

    To provide the best service and quality, we cover, finish and wrap all our books to order. This reduces waste and potential damage to products held in stock.

    We aim to dispatch within 1-3 working days, depending on when your order is placed. Please see the predicted delivery times below.

    Option 1: Royal Mail Tracked - Typically arriving within 2-3 days after dispatch.

    Option 2: Royal Mail Europe signed - 1-2 weeks, depending on location and local delivery service.

    Option 3: DPD next-day delivery - Your order will be made and dispatched the day after ordering.

    You will be notified by email when your order has been shipped or is ready for collection.

  • What is the difference between the Pith® Yuzu and Yuzu Flex Notebooks?

    The Pith® Yuzu Notebook features a 1.5 mm recycled rigid board cover while the Yuzu Flex features a much thinner and flexible 320 gsm cover.

  • Will I pay import taxes and duties in the EU?

    Unfortunately, yes. Since our lovely country decided to sink into the North Sea alone, anything we send to you wonderful people on the continent will incur some import duties and taxes. Each case is different and, therefore, complex for us to predict.

  • Do you ship to the USA?

    Currently, we do not ship to the USA from pithsupply.com; please see our stockists page for our partners that do.

  • Can I collect from the Pith® factory in Berwick-upon-Tweed?

    Yes! You are welcome to order online and collect from our HQ in Spittal, Berwick-upon-Tweed. Follow the instructions below and please email dontbeshy@pithsupply.com to arrange a convenient time to collect your order.

    Enter ‘COLLECT’ in the discount box at checkout, and when you receive your ‘Order fulfilled’ email, you can collect your order from us.

    Please note: You will still need to enter a shipping address, but the shipping charge will be removed.
